End of 2023, Antwerp Colors proudly presented the second student exhibition titled ‘Colors Of The World, Messages of Hope’. The expo featured a mix of tribal art projects, model painting projects and Ukraine class projects.

In this painting of a bride in a beautiful Victorian dress, you can find a romantic and mystical symbolism often found in the Pre-Raphaelites (these are English artists in the Victorian era).

The presented painting is my final portrait of Jeva. It was preceded by three smaller portrait studies, all painted form live model.

Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres (/ˈæŋɡrə, ˈæ̃ɡrə/ ANG-grə, French: [ʒɑ̃ oɡyst dɔminik ɛ̃ɡʁ]; 29 August 1780 – 14 January 1867) was a French Neoclassical painter. Ingres was profoundly influenced by past artistic traditions and aspired to become the guardian of academic orthodoxy against the ascendant Romantic style. Although he considered himself a painter of history in the tradition of Nicolas Poussin and Jacques-Louis David, it is his portraits, both painted and drawn, that are recognized as his greatest legacy.

He was born and raised in the Holy Roman Empire (modern-day Germany), to parents who were refugees from Antwerp in the Duchy of Brabant in the Southern Netherlands (modern-day Belgium) and moved to Antwerp at about 12. In addition to running a large workshop in Antwerp that produced paintings popular with nobility and art collectors throughout Europe, Rubens was a classically educated humanist scholar and diplomat who was knighted by both Philip IV of Spain and Charles I of England.

Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn (Leiden, 15 juli 1606/1607 – Amsterdam, 4 oktober 1669) was een Nederlandse kunstschilder, etser en tekenaar. Hij geldt algemeen als een van de grootste schilders en etsers in de Europese kunst, en als de belangrijkste Hollandse meester van de 17e eeuw. Hij vervaardigde in totaal ongeveer driehonderd schilderijen, driehonderd etsen en tweeduizend tekeningen. Zijn werk behoort tot de barok en is zichtbaar beïnvloed door het caravaggisme, alhoewel hij nooit in Italië is geweest.

Madame X or Portrait of Madame X is a portrait painting by John Singer Sargent of a young socialite, Virginie Amélie Avegno Gautreau, wife of the French banker Pierre Gautreau. Madame X was painted not as a commission, but at the request of Sargent.[1] It is a study in opposition. Sargent shows a woman posing in a black satin dress with jeweled straps, a dress that reveals and hides at the same time.

De Nachtwacht (Frans: La Ronde de nuit; Engels: Night Watch), is een schuttersstuk van de Hollandse kunstschilder Rembrandt van Rijn (1606-1669), dat in 1642 gereed kwam. Het wordt ook wel aangeduid als: ‘De compagnie van kapitein Frans Banninck Cocq’. De officiële titelbeschrijving luidt: “Schutters van Wijk II onder kapitein Frans Banninck Cocq en luitenant Willem van Ruytenburch, ‘De Nachtwacht’ “[1], of meer omschreven: De compagnie van kapitein Frans Banninck Cocq en luitenant Willem van Ruytenburgh maakt zich gereed om uit te marcheren.
